Part 2 - Dungeons and Takafumis

~About the GAME~

It's a tactical RPG with 50 Floors to conquer. In each round you have to make a decission, how to place your Party members and if their attack, wait, cast spells, flee, or dig for treasures.

You play with a party of 4 beginning from Level 1. You gain experience after each battle and get a battle reward too. This can be battle eqippment or potions to heal your party members. Be aware to survive, because only the survived members gain experience.

After each 5 Floors you are save. Tomo casts a "Lock spell", so if you are in trouble and want to retreat, or if you die in the battle, you will be respawned and completely healed at your last Floor Lock. To finish this GAME you must complete 50 Floors.

~How to Play~

Basic Controlls

kreis.png - Action/Confirm Button
r1.png - Skip button

l1.png / r1.png - switch between Characters in menu

The GAME starts with an introduction of Takafumi. He explains the fighting system and the further progress. Hitr1.png to move text skip fast forward until the battle is in your Hands. Now you will see this screen:

667A4EE330A230D530BF30FCItsaWonderfulLif

At the left side you see the status of all your fighters.

At the Top right corner you see a kind of timeline, it tells you, who will attack/move the next turn.

Now switch to "Formation". Press viereck.png and you will see the movement of your character. You can use the directional buttons to place him into another position. Now press x.png twice. With the directional buttons or r1.png you can switch between all characters and beastmen. If you switch to a beastmen you will see his movement and his status.

Now switch to "Battle Action".

You will see following screen:

667A4EE330A230D530BF30FCItsaWonderfulLif

This is the main screen you should use every battle. Of course, at the beginning you have only one personal skill unlocked, the rest of the skills will be unlocked during the GAME progress.

On the left side you can decide the two basic commands which are highlited in green "wait" and "attack".

The following three commands in red are the last action. "attack"; "flee", "dig".

Now choose your commands. In the first floors I would recommend to set "wait" as the first command, because your party members have the first turn. So if they wait, the beastmen will come closer and you can hit directly in the next round your opponents. Be aware of placing a clever formation and remember to check the enemy movement if you have doubts.

If you are ready, choose "Start Battle" and confirm with the left option. [ はい - YES ]

After the battle you will see a screen with your battle rewards. In first case it will be weapons, armour and sometimes potions.

Choose the first option to check the items and if you want to take it with you, press x.png to mark it.

The second option is to switch into your inventory:

667A4EE330A230D530BF30FCItsaWonderfulLif

You can switch with l1.png / r1.png between your characters.

Every Item adds WEIGHT and slows your movement. The weight you can carry is defined by the Level of your characters.

In the Item description you will see the effect.

You get ATK +"x" from Weapons (e.g. Daggers, Swords, Spears, Axes, ...) and

you get DEF +"x" from Armour (e.g. Helmet, Armour, Shield, Boots, ...)

Accessory will appear in the later Floors. You can find a detailed list in the "S-Rank" chapter of my guide.

If you have decided about your battle reward, continue with the last option and fight trough the Floors.

If you have trouble in beating the Floors, you can always quit and flee from battle.

After each 5 Floors, Tomo will cast a "Floor-lock-spell", so you will always return to that last (check)point.

Here is a picture of the translated menu you will see there:

667A4EE330A230D530BF30FCItsaWonderfulLif

~Leveling and JOBS~

After the battle you get experience points and if you reach the next level, you can deal with skills points.

Try to survive the battle with all characters, because only the survived ones get experience points. The amount of experience points is also defined by the number of killed opponents.

I would recommend to spend ATK and DEF at the beginning for all characters. Later I would make up my choice upon the JOBS the character plays, e.g. Tomo is from the beginning a magican and need INT to increase the damage of the spells. The other three are swordsmen and prefer ATK skill points, because they use melee attacks in first position.

The JOBS will be unlocked if you reach the requirements. Here is a list of all Jobs and their requirements:

Swordsman = ATK20, DEF15
Knight = ATK45, DEF40
Load = ATK75 DEF65 INT45
Samurai = ATK90, DEF65

40-platinum.png Way to Platinum 40-platinum.png

You have to focus on two playthroughs. The first one should be to accustom with the playing system and the focus on Level 99 with one character as well to unlock all JOB skills.

The second one should be your S Rank run. Therefore you have to complete D&T in 7 days.

Make backup saves after each opportunity you get. If you are not satisfied with your run, you can always reload and retry.

Step 1 - Clear your first Playthrough

During your first playthrough you get after each 5 Floors following Trophys:

22S475768.png

“愉快”の感情を司る071番

After completing Floor 5.

23Se258aa.png

“驚愕”の感情を司る075番

After completing Floor 10.

24Sbe81ab.png

“焦燥”の感情を司る081番

After completing Floor 15.

25S70c619.png

“どん引き”の感情を司る090番

After completing Floor 20.

26Saa9ab3.png

全ての感情を司る054番

After completing Floor 25.

27S5aa602.png

ラッキー鷹文

After completing Floor 30.

Be sure to make saves at Floor 40 and Floor 45.

After you complete the 50th Floor you get following Trophys, as well the last remaining CG's.

18S34c661.png

おかえり、鷹文

This is for completing the 50 Floor.

20Sb579ae.png

風子マスター

This is for completing Floor 50 and using the spell of summoning Fuko in this Floor.

Only Tomoya can summon Fuko with his Character skills No. 5 風子召喚 or No.8 .風子・囮の術.

The difference between both skills is, that with skill No.8, Fuko is Target of all enemies.

Fuko has to survive this battle, so try using this spell at a correct moment.

19S90b9b6.png

惚れるでないぞ?

This is for Clearing Floor 50 and using Tomo's attack No. 10 『 成体化 』

Step 2 - Levels, skills and rare Items

Now I would recommend to repeat Floors 46-49 or 41-44 and aiming for following Trophys:

6Se6949a.png

歴戦の証

This is for getting Level 99 with one Character.

5S472dba.png

免許皆伝

This is for unlocking all JOB skills.

To unlock the different JOBS, you have to point the right skill points after a Level up.

The Jobskills are always on the right side of your skill screen. If you change A JOB, you will always start with 5 empty spaces. After leveling with your character, the skills will be unlocked. Once all Jobskills are unlocked, you can change the Job at the main Floor.

It can be done with all characters, you do not have to do it all with one.

9S36e175.png

エクスカリバーを入手

This is for finding the Sword "Excalibur".

You can find it in Floors 46-49.

Hint:

Let one character fight and the rest of the party switch to dig-mode at the end of the turn.

8S843ca4.png

海星を入手

This is for finding the Accessory "Starfish".

You can find it in Floors 41-49.

This is obviously the rarest Item in the GAME. You have to be very patient by repeating the floors.

Hints:

Let one character fight and the rest of the party switch to dig-mode at the end of the turn.
Unequip the armour and weapons of the digging characters, to bring up their speed in battle.

Try to summon Fuko in Floors with many beastmen, to increase the drop rate.

Step 3 - play a new GAME and aim for "S Rank"

7S0ca7a6.png

神の領域

You have to complete D&T in 7 days.

It's not this hard as it sounds first. If you are familiar with the fighting system and the character skills, this should be no problem. The only hard part is the beginning. Floors 10-20 kept me a bit busy and I need to reload a few times, but if you are above Floor 25, it should be an easy run, because of the skill progress during the battles, you can easily plan your strategy.

Here are some useful Hints from Maincomptonese:

  • Replenish Tomoyo & Tomo's health with healing potions only. Use Tomoyo's skill : パンチラ or ノーブラ to heal Tomoya. Use Nanako's skill : パピコ ; In a near-death floor battle, she will replenish her entire health.
  • Try good formations to avoid "gang-bangs" where 4 elves have you cornered from moving away.
  • Don't waste your skills on useless battles (4-8 elves)... Savor them for big battles with golems or a large amount of elves.
  • It's wise to have 1-2 characters on the JOB skill : 魔法使い so you can have the awesome skills like fireball, fireball X3, quake, thunder, & thunderstorm when all leveled out.
  • Always MAX your defense to +3 or +4 per character's level. Until you reach the last 5 floors, you must upgrade everyone's ATK to +4 per character's level.
  • Make back-up saves as much as possible, if you feel confident on your progress.

Here are some strategy from two gamers. It helped me a bit for my orientation and my walkthrough was a mix of both.

Quote

By Maincomptonese:

My S Rank Day chart:
Day 1: Dungeon Floors #1-10
Day 2: Dungeon Floors #10-18 *died*
Day 3: Dungeon Floors #15-25
Day 4: Dungeon Floors #25-38 *died*
Day 5: Dungeon Floors #35-43 *died*
Day 6: Dungeon Floors #41-45
Automatically stops a day regardless if your party dies or not...
Day 7: Dungeon Floors #46-50

Quote

By Aelina:

So I just finished my S-Rank run. In short, it went down like this:

Day 1: Floor 1-13 (Died)
Tomoya and Tomo: Def+2, Int+1
Tomoyo and Kanako: Def+2, Atk+1
Even spread of gear across all four members, focusing on Tomoyo and Kanako as main melee. Often used Tomoya and Tomo as meat shield sacrifices to preserve the melees' HP and keep 'em alive. Promoted Tomoya from Swordsman to Magician after I died, for a 2x Swordsman 2x Magician PT.

Day 2: Floor 10-31 (Died)
Tomoya and Tomo: Int+3 --> Int+4
Tomoyo and Kanako: Def+2, Atk+1 --> Def+2, Atk+2
Tomoyo and Kanako still as main melee and now the only wearers of gear, dual-wielding two weapons (shields are heavy, the speed reduction hurts too much to warrant the bit of extra defense, in my opinion). Tomoya and Tomo switched to "Dig Mode" (where I left them for the rest of the GAME permanently) and stripped naked for the sake of speed/survival as well as extra carrying capacity for potions. Only used them to cast spells on boss floors, or floors where there are 8+ beastmen. As Tomoya and Tomo were rarely if ever attacked, all potions went to Tomoyo and Kanako at the end of a floor.

Day 3: Floor 30-35
All allocations/strategy same as Day 2. Forced out of the dungeon at Floor 35.

Day 4: Floor 35-42 (Died)
All allocations/strategy same as Day 2.

Day 5: Floor 40-45
All allocations/strategy same as Day 2. Forced out of the dungeon at Floor 45.

Day 6: Floor 45-50
Tomoya and Tomo: Int+4
Tomoyo and Kanako: Atk+4
Still the same strategy as Day 2 for the most part, except I was much more liberal with spells/skills near the end. 1x Fireball on Floor 46, 1x Fireball on Floor 47, 1x Thunder on Floor 48, 1x Thunder + 3x Fireball on Floor 49, and finally 3x Fireball + 2x Thunderstorm (as well as Tomoyo and Kanako's best melee skills such as Gravity Jump, Tomo's Shield and Speed buffs, Tomoya's Fuko summon to use as an extra meat shield, etc.) on Floor 50.

All-in-all, not too difficult... honestly, a solid Day 1 run was the hardest part for me; I was dead set on Floor 10+ on Day 1, but I died at least three or four times around Floors 7-10 and started over from scratch until I was satisfied with my progress. Once I managed to hit Floor 13, locking in Floor 10 and able to promote Tomoya to a second Magician, it was smooth sailing to the end; just as Wizards are the key to a painless grind to Level 99 via their Meteo spell, Magicians are the key to a painless S-Rank run.

If you were persistent D&T and found all the rare accessory, you will be rewarded with an new platin3.png
